Munnur Sree Arulala Perumal Seva Trust �had �completed the renovation of Sridevi, �Bhoomidevi Samedha Sree Arulala Perumal temple situated at Munnur, Tindivanam, Villupparam district and the �Samprokshanam was held on Monday the January 24th �beween 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.
Munnur is also known as Darukavanam, Veeranaraynapuram, Purushothamanallur, Chaturvedimangalam, Tirisathapuram. Inscriptions in the Adavalliswarar temple nearby reveal that once upon a time, the village was prosperous receiving grants from the Chera, Chola, Pandya and Pallava rulers.
Neglect over the decades has taken its toll and the temple was in ruins. The local residents and philanthropists decided to renovate the temple and formed a trust viz., MUNNUR SREE ARULALAPERUMAL SEVA TRUST. The shrines of the main deity, Andal, Chakkarathazhwar, and Anjaneya have been refurbished.
A beautiful idol of Sri �Yoga Narasimhar, �found when the land was excavated for construction, has been installed in a shrine.
